International trade attorney Elika Eftekhari specializes in understanding the business implications of geopolitics and international trade. She is a sought-after expert on sanctions, foreign policy particularly as it relates to MENA & China, and tariffs. She currently serves as General Counsel to a skincare startup, where she oversees all aspects of legal compliance, litigation risk, international sales, import/export regulations, supply chain transparency, and cosmetic compliance. Through her consulting firm Alamut Trade Partners, she also provides government advocacy and legal counsel to nonprofit, NGO and other charitable entities specializing in high-risk portfolios. From 2016-2018, she served as Director of Trade Compliance for the US-Iran Chamber of Commerce, where she ensured compliance with U.S. sanctions laws and regulations. From 2012-2016 she was an attorney in the Office of the Chief Counsel for Trade Enforcement & Compliance at the U.S. Department of Commerce, focusing on AD/CVD and other international trade remedies matters. She holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and a BA from Southern Methodist University.
