The conversation features experts John Kamm, chairman and executive director of The Dui Ha Foundation; Yanghee Lee, UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar from 2014–2020; and Theodore Te, human rights attorney and former chief public information officer and assistant court administrator of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

ASIA SOCIETY NEW YORK, May 25, 2021 — The Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) hosted a discussion on the U.S.’s Indo-Pacific and China policies with Rep. Gregory Meeks, Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs. This conversation came as Congress considers a series of comprehensive legislation aimed at bolstering the U.S.’s engagement and leadership globally in the face of China’s rising political and economic power.
