Morteza Nemati was born in 1980 in Abdanan city and has a PHD in geography from Tehran University in Iran. He teach at Chamran University in Ahvaz for 12 years and resigned from the university last year in protest against the suppression of freedom. During the Women’s Life Freedom Movement, he launched a campaign to support the protesters arrested in Abdanan city. He recently wrote a book titled “Personal Geography: The Terror of Individuality” in which he described his lived experience of living conditions in Iran under a religious totalitarian regime
