Paul Thanos is Director of the Office of Finance and Insurance Industries US Department of Commerce/International Trade Administration in Washington, DC. He is responsible for developing and executing policy, analysis, and promotion initiatives for the International Trade Administration pertaining to finance and insurance, trade and project finance, impact investing, and access to finance. Goals include expansion of financial services exports, attracting FDI to the United States, and developing cooperative programs with international partners in support of new and innovative mechanisms to expand access to finance. Work includes strategic analysis pertaining to the for benefit business sector and formulating solutions to facilitate inclusive capitalism.
